As I was ending a late-day visit with a band the other day, I looked out to find that we had an audience. 🙂

I love it; what a lovely photo. I saw the first three watchers but had to look again and saw all ten. I love how alert they all are staring you down.

That contrast between silhouettes and blending into the hillside and sage was even darker in reality. The deer are very alert … just like the mustangs and elk and pronghorn. … The mustangs are a lot more tolerant of my presence. 🙂

Pretty obvious that there is more curiosity than fear from the wildlife!

They ARE very curious. 🙂 These are the does, though, so they’re not nearly as wary as the bucks (or the elk, or pronghorns, which aren’t hunted here).

They likely saw me on the side of the ridge with the mustangs long before I was aware of them, and we were still a fair distance from each other. Also, they know they’re much more *fleet of foot* than I am! 😉
